GRILLED SUGARED PEARS

405 kilojoules 96 Calories per serve Medium Fibre Low Fat 1.5 serves carbohydrate 2 pears, peeled, halved and cored 1 teaspoon vanilla essence 3 tablespoons brown sugar 1. Place pears in a shallow ovenproof dish. Brush with vanilla essence and sprinkle with sugar. 2. Place under a preheated hot grill and cook for 2-3 minutes or until golden. Serves 4 Serving suggestion: Place pears on warm serving plates, spoon over any cooking juices and accompany with low-fat yogurt ice cream. Other fruits such as peaches, apples, nectarines and plums are also delicious cooked in this way.
