  • SICKLE-CELL ANAEMIA
  • Sickle-cell anaemia is an incurable genetic disorder that can only be passed on from parent to child. Sickle-cell disease mainly affects people of African and Caribbean origin (about one in 200). It also occurs in people of Indian, Middle Eastern and Mediterranean origin - all places where malaria has been prevalent in the past.
